BHIM App (BHIM-Bharat Interface for Money) is a mobile app launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), a government of India initiative for money transactions. The Bhima app is based on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). It was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, at the Digi Dhan Mela at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on 30 December 2016. Through this app, we can easily transfer money from one bank account to another bank by using mobile number or Aadhaar number. The goal of this app is to boost e-payments and cashless transactions.
So let’s see how to download Bhima app:
BHIM App is currently available only for android version 4.2 and above and iOS. Here we will tell you to install BHIM App in Android operating system.
First of all, you have to go to your android mobile’s Play Store and search by typing BHIM. The first option you will see after searching is to click it. The size of this app is about 2.7 MB, so it will be downloaded to your mobile soon.
Now you will be shown the option to install BHIM App. Then select install and install the app. Keep in mind that the app you download should be offered by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
When we open the app for the first time after the app is installed, it will give us the option to select our language. You can use it in your spoken language. After the new update, it is available in a total of 12 languages. The languages are English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese and Oriya.
After this it will tell you about some of its basic features.
After this, your mobile number will be called for verification. Which is very important. If you have two sim cards in your phone, then you will be given the option to choose sim. Here you have to select the sim which is linked to your bank account.
After this you will be asked to set a password / PIN. Without this PIN you cannot open and use BHIM App.
After login, you will reach the dashboard of BHIM App. You will see many bank names here. Out of that, you have to select the bank where you have an account and your mobile number is linked to it. After selecting, you will see your account number from which tapping will link that account with BHIM App.
Note: 1) You can link only one bank here at a time with BHIM App.
2) You can change your bank account at any time by the above mentioned procedure.
After this you have to set UPI PIN. For this, you have to select Home Page> Bank Account Tab> Set UPI PIN. To set UPI PIN you will need your debit card. You have to enter the last 6 digits and validity of your debit card number.
After this you have to set your virtual payment address (VPA) s. For this, you have to select Home Page> Profile Tab.
Note: Each person is allowed two virtual payment addres (VPAs). (1) mobile number @ upi (2) name @ upi
After that you have to make one of the two virtual payment address (VPA) s the primary VPA. With which you will be able to share it easily.
After this you can send, receive and collect money with the help of this app. For transactions, you can use VPA, Account No + IFSC Code, Scan and Pay, Mobile No or Aadhaar No.
